You can use this task to add a legal transaction for the selected household. Prior to adding a legal transaction for a household, the household must have been sent a notice to quit, and must be available in the File Formal Eviction or Track Legal Proceedings activities.
To add a legal transaction, follow these steps:
1. Go to Occupancy and Compliance Detail > Legal Tab, and then select a household.
or
Go to Household Detail > Legal Tab.
2. Go to Tasks > Add a Legal Transaction.
3. Select a transaction sub-type.
Note
Legal transaction sub-types are maintained at System Administration > Maintain Lookup Tables - Legal Transaction Sub Type.
4. In the Description field, enter a note about the legal transaction that you are adding.
5. In the Follow-up Date field, enter or select a date on which to follow up.
6. Click Next.
7. If you have enabled attachments for legal transactions at System Administration > Maintain Lookup Tables - Business Constants, you can scan and attach any files to this legal transaction.

8. Click Next.
9. If you want to print a document for the legal transactions, select the document.
10. To preview the legal transaction document, click Preview.
Note
Documents in the "Eviction: Miscellaneous" document group in System Administration > Maintain Documents - Maintain Document Groups are included in the list of available documents.
11. To print the legal transaction document, click Finished.
