This task is used to take a vacant unit off-line. There can be many reasons a unit should be taken off-line. Refer to the chart below for the reasons available in Property Manager.
If the unit is temporarily off-line you will be able to schedule a tenant to move into it, using the Schedule Move-In/Transfer task on the Household Detail > General Tab. Scheduling the Move-In will place the unit on-line again.
The unit must be vacant and there must not be a tenant scheduled to move in.

Enter the Effective Date.
Click Next.
Select the Offline Status. The choices are:

Temporary off-line status assumes the unit:
Physically still exists
Physically and financially is still part of the existing community with regard to reporting
May at any time be placed back on-line
Permanent off-line status assumes the unit:
Either does not physically exist - e.g. has been demolished during a rehab project or
Is no longer financially part of this community - e.g. the unit has been converted to a condo and has been sold
Check the box Confirmation: Take This Unit Offline
Click Finished.
If the off-line status you selected is a permanent reason, the following pop-up message will appear:
"You are taking the unit offline permanently, and won't be able to bring it online again in the future. Are you sure you want to continue?"
Click Yes to continue.
An Overall Status window will pop up with a Passed or Failed message.
If it failed you may need to make a correction or contact Bostonpost Client Support at myMRI or contact a Client Support Analyst directly at (877) 579-8896 for assistance.
If it passed click Close.
Additional Information regarding Permanently Offline Units
The Demolition Disposition Date in the Maintenance Information section of the tab will be populated with the date entered in the first step of this task, if the unit is taken off-line permanently.
Units that are permanently off-line will not be counted in a Funding Program Group, while temporarily off-line units can be counted.
Units that are permanently off-line will not appear in the Unit drop-down list of the Unit context bar for the selected community.
