Using this task, you can manually enter the lottery numbers if you have already drawn a lottery outside of Property Manager, or you can click Draw Lottery to have Property Manager draw the lottery numbers for you. Lottery numbers are displayed on the Community Waitlist and Manage Vacancy tabs. They are also displayed on the Household Waitlist tab, where the list of waitlist entries expands to two rows to display the lottery number.

Example

Waitlist lotteries can be run when a community is processing initial rent up after having received multiple applications with the same effective date. To manage the multiple applications with the same effective date, you can draw lottery numbers for each household, and then these households are placed on the waiting list according to the lottery number drawn.

 

Note

Ongoing waitlist lotteries are organized by date. For waitlist entries to be included in the same waitlist lottery, they must have the same application date.

 

To run a waitlist lottery, follow these steps:

1.         Go to Community Detail > Waitlist Tab > Tasks > Waitlist Lottery.

or

Go to Occupancy and Compliance Detail > Waitlist Tab > Tasks > Waitlist Lottery.

or

Go to Conversion Detail > Waitlist Tab > Tasks > Waitlist Lottery.

2.         Select the waitlist group for which the lottery is to be run.

3.         Click Next.

4.         Select the application date on which the lottery is to be run. All households with this application date are included in the lottery.

5.         Click Next.

6.         You can manually enter the lottery numbers if you have conducted the lottery outside of Property Manager, or you can click Draw Lottery to have Property Manager draw the lottery numbers.

7.         Click Finished. The date and time stamp for these households now displays the date and lottery number.
