Rent Limit Override

By adding new rent limit overrides for HOME funding programs on the Rent Limit Override table, you can override the maximum rents for applicable layers other than the high and low layers in the programs. This process provides additional flexibility to configure more complex layering in HOME programs.

To override rent limits, follow these steps:

1.         Go to System Administration > Maintain Lookup Tables.

2.         In the Lookup Table to Maintain field, select the Rent Limit Override table.

3.         In the Community List area, select the community for which you want to enter a rent limit override.

Note

The Community List area only displays the communities in your database for which HOME funding programs are used.

 

4.         Go to Tasks > Insert New Detail Item. A new blank line appears in the Rent Limit Override(s) area.

Right-click anywhere in the Rent Limit Override(s) area, and then select Insert. A new blank line appears in the Rent Limit Override(s) area.

5.         On the blank line, complete the fields in the following columns for the new rent limit override:

        Funding Program—Select the funding program for which you want to enter the rent limit override.

Note

The field in the Funding Program column only displays HOME funding programs.

 

        Eff Date—Enter the date on which the rent limit override goes into effect.

        End Date—Enter the date on which the rent limit override expires.

Note

The date range that is determined by the dates in the Eff Date and End Date columns cannot overlap with any date ranges during which existing limits have been configured for the community, funding program, and layer.

 

        # Bed(s)—In the various fields for the different numbers of bedrooms per unit, enter the rent limit overrides for the units.

6.         When you have completed the fields for the override, click the Save icon.
