The Sign Lease task is the final step in the leasing process. In this task, you enter the dates on which the lease was signed by the tenant and a representative of your organization.
Note
For the Sign Lease task to be completed successfully, the certification for the household must already exist, and there cannot be any unsigned certifications for the household.
To sign a lease, follow these steps:
1. Go to Occupancy and Compliance Detail > Leases Tab.
2. In the To-Do List, highlight the Sign Lease line.
3. In the Sign Lease area, a list of households with pending leases is displayed. Highlight the household for which you want to record the dates on which the lease was signed.
4. Go to Tasks.
5. Under Lease Activity (For Selected Household), click Sign Lease to start the task.
6. On the Enter Signed Dates tab, review the following information in the Household Information area:
▪ Head of Household—Displays the name of the head of household.
▪ Address—Displays the address.
▪ Community—Displays the community at which they reside.
▪ Apt. Nbr.—Displays the unit number.
7. In the Certification Detail area, review the information about the certification:
▪ Type—Displays the type of certification.
▪ Effective Date—Displays the effective date of the certification.
▪ Tenant Rent—Displays the rent rate for the tenant.
▪ Subsidy—Displays the subsidy for the tenant.
8. In the Certification Detail area, complete the following fields:
▪ Owner Signed Date—Enter or select the date on which the representative from your organization signed the lease.
▪ Tenant Signed Date—Enter or select the date on which the tenant signed the lease.
9. If you have enabled document imaging in your database, click Next to add attachments.
10. Click Finished. A Results window appears.
11. On the Results window, review the changes and progress that has been made.
a. If you want to print the results, click Print.
b. If you want to copy the results to your workstation's clipboard, click Copy.
12. Click Finished.
